Maskêkosihk Trail is now open
Maskêkosihk Trail officially opened on June 22nd, 2022 providing new and improved access to the community for residents. The road now connects The Uplands at Riverview directly to Anthony Henday Drive. This 2-kilometre stretch of arterial road is the first major roadway in the City of Edmonton to be given a name in honour of the Cree First Nations. Maskêkosihk is pronounced as Muss-Kay-Go-Sik.

Big Island Provincial Park Coming in 2023
The Government of Alberta, the City of Edmonton and Enoch Cree Nation are partnering in the creation of Big Island Provincial Park. The park will be located along the North Saskatchewan River in Southwest Edmonton, just minutes south of The Uplands at Riverview. Planning is currently under way, with a target opening date of 2023.
